Rohde & Schwarz transmitter supplier for Anvia TV

23.08.2010 - Anvia TV builds the first DVB-T2 network in Finland now and Rohde & Schwarz has been chosen to supply the transmitters. The transmitters will be delivered in autumn 2010 and broadcasting will start by the end of this year.

The Finnish Government has granted four permissions for DVB-T2 network until now and two of them to Anvia TV. Anvia TV builds now the first DVB-T2 network in Helsinki region and Rohde & Schwarz has been chosen to supply the transmitters.

Mr. Pekka Korpimies, Business Director, Distribution and Contribution, from Anvia TV stated why they have chosen Rohde & Schwarz as follows: “Rohde & Schwarz is a reliable supplier and a European company which is logistically important.”

According to Mr Markku Huvinen, Account Manager, Rohde & Schwarz Finland this is an important start in the Finnish DVB-T2 market. In addition Mr Huvinen stated that “The lead is important for Rohde & Schwarz because we will be the supplier for the second network, too. Rohde & Schwarz has long experience in broadcasting, more than 50 years, and we are also the leading supplier of transmitters for DVB-T and DVT-T2 networks in the world. For example DVB-T2 transmitters of Rohde & Schwarz will be delivered to Italy and Sweden.”

The transmitters will be delivered this autumn and broadcasting will start until the end of this year.
